In this article we will focus on some typical initial post deployment tasks and how to deploy the Integration Packs.

Orchestrator automation is driven by process automation components.  Think of a normal toolbox, hammer, screwdriver.  They are all tools but they do different kinds of jobs.  Each of these jobs are called “Activities” in Orchestrator.

Activities fall into two main categories, these are:

follow site Built-in Standard Activities:

These are the default activity categories available to you in the Runbook Designer. These are standard activities and provide you with a set of components to create Runbooks out of the box.  Imagine these as standard tools in a toolbox.

Integration Pack Activities, however, are additional tools we can get or purchase from Microsoft, the community, SI’s, other Vendors such as VMware or are custom created by using the Orchestrator Integration Pack Toolkit. These activities provide you with the Runbook components to interface with the target environment of the IP. For example, the Active Directory Integration Pack has the “Activities” you can perform in Active Directory via Orchestrator.
