I’ve always hated writing about myself, however I suppose I have to on my Blog.
I started working in it a very long time ago 🙁 by implementing an NT 3.51/4.0 network for my fathers business using BNC and good old parallel port printers. Took me absolutely months and with only books from then a real “Book Shop” lol. I was absolutely fascinated and enthralled at my achievement that I couldn’t resist a career in IT. That said, I crazily joined the British Army where I was exposed to such amazing technical challenges in some of the craziest conditions known to man. I deployed to Bosnia, Macedonia, Afghanistan and Iraq. I also managed to Ski for a few of months each year (well for two years on the run anyway. After 12 years I decided I wanted a change and therefore retired from the Army and then went into Consultancy. Since then I have various appointments ranging from Chief Technical Officer / Chief Technical Architect for large Microsoft Partners, through to Consulting and Teaching IT Professionals around the world as well as presenting at many technical conferences for Microsoft on Azure, Office 365 and Skype for Business Server (previously Lync Server).
I believe certification is important and have attained the following qualifications throughout my career:
- Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) – Azure
- Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) (UK Regional Lead)
- Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization
- Citrix Certified Expert – Networking
- MCSA – Windows 10
- MCSA – Azure
- MCSA – Linux on Azure
- MCSA – Office 365
- MCSE – MCSE: Cloud Platform
